Description | The Zoo Bar is a punk/metal/goth club, with free entry next door to the Tram Shed, a club playing chart and club music. yaay. :(
It's got that traditional spit-on-the-floor-and-other-people charm, the beer's warm and the walls are sticky, but there's an outside bit as well, which is good for cooling down. Your only choice club-wise in the wonderful town of Halifax. |
Opening Hours | till 2am Fri, Sat |

| How this club can be possibly described as punk/metal/goth I don't know! Atmosphere is black yes, I mean you can't see where you're going and keep tripping over people who like to sit in the corridors so yes thats about as goth as its gets. Music is virtually exclusively grunge and any requests tend to not get played. Price is now a fiver and as Halifax's sole alternative club it's still generally to be avoided unless in a group on the piss! The general age must range from about 13 (literally) to about 17. Those of us of legal drinking age feel a bit old! |

| This club used to be THE place to go in Halifax, I used to be a regular until they moved the dance floor and knocked a couple of walls through so you have to fight your way through the revellers on the dance floor and, as Hemlock said, the various teenagers sitting on the floor in order to get to the toilets (which aren't nice at all from what I can remember). It's one of those places where if you know everybody in the place, you're ok. If not, prepare to be shunned and feel old if you're over 20! |

| The zoo bar is ok... but as people say it's full of young'ns..... and i'm young, but I act slightly older than all the hardcore 'moshers' that attend the zoo bar!Who listen to the regular crowd pleasers such as 'puddle of mudd' and 'soil'! Saying that there is quite a good range of music, and Dj Dan plays quite a lot of industrial,darkwave,gothic/trance! But I'd advise to people, don't go there unless you know everyone there... it's no fun when you don't! |

| Its terrible....I will agree with industrialFreak it used to be good when the older DJ's were there (as i also used to work there) but now the general age of people in there are about 13/14.... I would rather go home than go out there........ |

| Probably the most depressing, cramped, badly-run, worst-DJ'd club I've been to. Once upon a time the Tramshed was a rock club (called the Empire) and the Zoo Bar was a dance joint. Then about ten years ago, they swapped. Most of the Empire crowd refused to go to the Zoo Bar; fortunately a new rock club called Fat Freddie's opened down the road. Now both the Empire and FF's (now the Revival) are long gone and the Zoo Bar is all that remains. God help Halifax. |

| Sadly it now IS still pretty bad - they did a recent raid there and found that the doorman and one of the bar staff was under 15!! Also the clientele was 80% under 16 - yes, 16, not even 18! It's a shame as it seems to be following the rest of Halifax on a downhill slide. As someone who lives in the Halifax area when not at uni, it's clear that Halifax is becoming the new Blackpool and it's all about pubs and clubs - but n alternative ones apart from the Zoo bar, which may not get it's licence when it comes up for renewal :S A shame cos Halifax will have nothing but towny, dance places but the Zoo bar is just a creche for rowdy preteens it seems. |

| In my circle of friends this place is know as 'The Poo bar'. I have never been in a more depressing place in my life and I've been to some right dives. This is the only (so called) Rock Club in Halifax. God help us all! |

| The zoo bar is now completely different! Due to the hard work of the staff and some new DJ's its once again very busy, but this time it operates a no id no entry policy which police check regularly! There are hardly any kids there now and the place is much cleaner too! The tramshed is now part of the zoo bar so there are no more townies, just three rooms of rock, punk, metal, emo and alternative (amongst others) see bussterj.co.uk/zoo and dont judge it unless uve seen it for yourself! |

| I am one of the new Dj's,i play a huge variety of music in my room the main Zoo Bar Room.every friday night, fair enuf before it was bad,but now i have put my own money in to make it better, bought new lights, air fresheners, laser light,cd players, rearranged the seating and am currently trying to get the manager to get two table football games in too.We offer cheaper on door with flyers located at bradleys records in halifax centre.£4 with one b4 11pm.The police have been round much recently, but we seem to be targeted, they have not yet found ANY drugs at all, that goes for the snifer dog2! so is not a drug den!rarely any trouble now that there are no twockers at all.Just needs people to see it now and then they can say what they think 4 real, but its changed, just look at the zoo bar website for up to date stuff,http://bussterj.co.uk/zoo/ cya there! |
