Description
Since it takes you to Central if you click on Fife, I'm mentioning this Fife-based night here. Run by the university rock society, it's a deeply silly event with a relaxed atmosphere, featuring classic rock, trad metal, power metal, nu metal, extreme metal, punk, ska, alternative rock, goth and industrial. DJs vary between weeks. Expect cheap drinks, scantily clad people and occasional optional games and competitions. Most attendees are students, but a few older folk come too.
Nights are generally announced on the message board which can be found at http://www.thesinner.net/mb/Societies/rocksoc If you're not a St Andrews student (Dundee students might be ok too, but I can't say for certain), you'll need to get one to sign you in. Enquire on said message board, providing you're over eighteen.
Opening Hours
Alternate Thursdays during term time, 8pm-1am.

Comment:
The actual club nights only really take place once every two weeks, but there's generally something on a Thursday night between (i.e. A Pub Crawl or Film Night) - and if there isn't anything planned by the Committee at all we plan something ourselves - generally revolving around the Central - to curb our withdrawl ;) RockSoc itself has been described in the past as rather "clique"-ish. There are quite a lot of regulars who go and of course we all know each other - even if it's only by name and the odd few drunken hugs. However, you'll find that if you're willing to go along and speak to people, everyone is really friendly and ready to accept new people to the crowd.
